QJMotor SRK 450 RR — Stunning Looks, Serious Performance

We spent a solid amount of road time with the QJMotor SRK 450 RR, and we had absolutely no issues with it. We rode it hard, enjoying both relaxed cruising and faster, spirited riding. A highlight was a run to Harties and a few proper speed runs on the infamous Satellite Road. While out there, the SRK 450 RR really turned heads — its design is striking, unique, and undeniably an eye-catcher. But it’s not just about looks; the bike delivers performance to match its style.

LED lighting all around, including crisp daytime running lights, indicators, and tail lights, adds to its modern, premium appearance. The TFT dash is large, bright, and very easy to read, with intuitive navigation through the bike’s switchgear. Launch control is a treat, engaging at around 10,000 RPM and staying active after a rollout, allowing for repeated bursts off the line — perfect for spirited riding or a bit of fun at the lights.

At the heart of the SRK 450 RR lies a thrilling inline four-cylinder, 421cc, 16-valve DOHC engine. Producing over 76 horsepower and 39 Nm of torque, it effortlessly propels the 185 kg curb weight to seriously impressive performance figures. The engine redlines just over 13,000 rpm and is full of character, delivering miles of smiles every time you twist the throttle. This is a motor you really have to rev — it doesn’t particularly like being ridden in the lower rev range. Short-shifting is out of the question if you want to make the most of its performance or overtake confidently. You’ve got to ride it in the rev band where it really makes the power. The gearbox is silky smooth, but the addition of a quickshifter would have been much appreciated. And while the price is very attractive, I would have gladly paid a little extra to have a quickshifter as standard.
The claimed top speed is 230 km/h — which we got very close to — but we feel a lighter rider, or a downhill run, could push it even higher. The motor is rev-happy, responsive, and perfectly suited for both spirited blasts and long road runs, making it the soul of the SRK 450 RR.

The SRK 450 RR holds the road exceptionally well, thanks to its chassis and Marzocchi suspension. Up front, fully adjustable upside-down forks allow for fine-tuning of rebound, compression, and damping, while the rear telescopic coil spring with oil damping complements this perfectly. The suspension soaked up bumps with ease but remained stiff enough for aggressive curb-to-curb riding. Handling is predictable, flickable, and smooth, inspiring confidence through both slow, technical corners and fast, flowing roads, particularly on the Harties runs.

The 16.5-litre fuel tank isn’t tiny, and yes, the SRK 450 RR can be thirsty when ridden hard, but that’s exactly how this bike wants to be ridden. On about R300 of fuel, we managed roughly 250 km, even with plenty of high-rev action. Ride it more gently, and it can be economical, but most of the time you’ll want to enjoy the symphony of the high-revving inline-four. The standard exhaust already sounds fantastic, though a full performance system would further enhance that four-cylinder roar.

Braking is outstanding. Dual Brembo discs up front are rare on a small-capacity bike and provide sharp, precise stopping power. ABS works seamlessly, though it can intervene under hard braking — but that’s part of its job, and it’s reassuring. For those who like to play, the bike offers an off-road mode, which softens front ABS and disengages the rear, and traction control can be disabled for wheelies and spirited riding.

Connectivity is modern, too. You can pair your smartphone via Bluetooth to access the dash interface, and two ride modes — normal and sport — allow you to tailor performance to your mood. We kept it in sport most of the time, naturally.

Overall, the SRK 450 RR is an exceptionally well-rounded bike. Stock is arriving at TRD Motorcycles around March, and demand is high, with many units already sold, so booking early is advised. Some might hesitate at the idea of a Chinese motorcycle, but the build quality here is impressive — comparable to, if not exceeding, some European offerings. Chinese manufacturers have improved dramatically over the last decade, and the SRK 450 RR reflects that evolution, even competing in global racing categories like World Supersport.

With a three-year/30,000 km warranty, top-tier specification, thrilling performance, and striking design, the QJMotor SRK 450 RR offers incredible value. At this price point, there’s really nothing to lose and a lot to enjoy.
