MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago Limited Edition – Where Art Meets Speed and Heritage
MV Agusta is unveiling the latest in a long line of tributes to 15-time Grand Prix world champion Giacomo Agostini, this time in the form of the new Superveloce 1000 Ago—a limited-edition version of the upcoming four-cylinder Superveloce 1000 retro superbike. Just 83 units will be produced worldwide, each priced at around R2,075,000 (€83,000), celebrating Agostini’s 83rd birthday. Buyers will receive a certificate of authenticity, a dedicated motorcycle cover, a passenger seat and footpegs, carbon heel guards, and other premium extras.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest racers in history, Agostini claimed eight 500cc world championships and seven more in the 350cc category, securing 122 wins and 159 podiums from 207 races—including 10 victories at the iconic Isle of Man TT. The Superveloce 1000 Ago is also the first new model MV Agusta has revealed since parting ways with KTM parent company Pierer Mobility AG, which sold its 50.1% stake back to previous minority shareholders, Art of Mobility S.A., earlier this year.

This exclusive model follows the debut of the Superveloce 1000 Serie Oro shown in July 2024. The bike shares its 998cc inline-four engine with the Rush 1000 and larger Brutale models. Meanwhile, the Superveloce 800—also styled with vintage flair—continues to be part of MV’s lineup. Weighing in at a claimed 209kg dry, the Superveloce 1000 Ago features full carbon fibre bodywork with front winglets, a sculpted solo seat unit, and a distinctive quad-exit underseat exhaust reminiscent of the F4 superbike. Each bike is individually numbered with a real gold plate on the top yoke and sports bold yellow number plates, along with Agostini-inspired red and silver paintwork.
Adding a deeper sense of heritage, the ignition key includes a brass medallion crafted from a trophy Agostini won at Imola in the 500cc class. Each of the 83 customers will also receive a bespoke Dainese Demone GP 3X leather suit and AGV Pista GP RR helmet, further cementing the celebratory nature of the release.

But the Superveloce 1000 Ago isn’t just about looks. It delivers a claimed 205.2bhp at 13,000rpm and 86lb.ft of torque at 11,000rpm, putting it firmly in superbike territory. The engine is housed in a high-strength steel trellis frame with an aluminium single-sided swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by Öhlins electronically adjustable 43mm NIX forks and a TTX rear shock, each offering 120mm of travel, while an Öhlins electronic steering damper ensures stability at speed.
Rider settings and electronic aids—including wheelie control, cruise control, launch control, and more—are accessed via a 5.5-inch TFT display. The bike also includes integrated GPS through the MV Ride app, along with a Mobisat anti-theft system with a one-year subscription.

Braking is top-tier, with Brembo Stylema four-piston calipers clamping down on 320mm floating front discs, backed by cornering ABS and rear wheel lift mitigation for controlled, confident stopping.
