Johann Zarco Stays with LCR Honda Castrol for 2026-2027
Surprising news in the paddock — despite widespread rumors linking him to a factory Honda seat, Johann Zarco has chosen to re-sign with LCR Honda Castrol for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
It could be a smart move. While a factory ride comes with intense pressure and expectations, LCR offers a more focused environment where Zarco can concentrate on performance and bike development.
Either way, it’s fantastic to see Zarco committed to MotoGP for the next two years. Do you think sticking with LCR is the right call?
Johann Zarco
CASTROL Honda LCR pilot
“I am genuinely very happy to confirm that I will be staying with in the LCR team for the next two seasons. This is important to all of us as we have big goals to achieve and great opportunities to grab by 2027. When I signed with Honda at the end of the 2023 season, I wasn’t expecting to get that second breath and gave me the energy I needed to sign a new two-year deal. We already won a win with Lucio and the team. It would then be fantastic to be able to rewrite this experience again and we’re all determined to put in great effort to achieve solid results. Over the past two years, Honda has provided valuable and ongoing support to the LCR team. We are convinced that we can continue to evolve and develop the motorcycle by working hard. I would like to conclude by saying a big thank you to HRC, LCR team and everyone who gives us support. ”
Lucio Cecchinello
Team Manager CASTROL Honda LCR
“Working with Johann is simply extraordinary. Her professionalism on and off the court is impeccable. We are pleased that HRC has renewed confidence in it for the next two years and are confident that its contribution to the development of HRCV in 2026 and 2027 will be crucial. Honda is indeed eager to fight the outposts again. We are also proud to have been confirmed as one of HRC’s trusted partners for Johann’s management. Continuing to be a part of the Honda family is a source of satisfaction for the LCR team. ”
