Honda and Onitsuka Tiger Unveil Striking Mid-Sports Motorcycle Concept in Milan

Honda has joined forces with Japanese fashion house Onitsuka Tiger in a collaboration that brings together motorcycle culture, fashion and Japanese design, with the partnership making its global debut during Milan Fashion Week.

The first result of the collaboration, the Onitsuka Tiger Honda Mid Sports Concept, was unveiled in Milan on September 23, alongside Onitsuka Tiger’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection.

The collaboration brings together two Japanese brands with more than seven decades of history. Honda was founded in 1948, while Onitsuka Tiger was established in Kobe in 1949. Both companies began with a strong focus on Japanese engineering and manufacturing, before expanding their respective businesses onto the global stage.

Honda has built its reputation around mobility, technology and innovation, while Onitsuka Tiger has evolved from its origins as a sports footwear manufacturer into an internationally recognised fashion brand. The new partnership draws on the similarities between the two companies, particularly their shared focus on craftsmanship, technology, distinctive design and a willingness to explore new ideas.

At the centre of the collaboration is the Onitsuka Tiger Honda Mid Sports Concept, a motorcycle developed around the theme of combining the sporting spirit of both brands.

The concept takes a mid-displacement sports motorcycle as its foundation and gives it a distinctive Onitsuka Tiger identity. Tiger Yellow, one of the fashion brand’s signature colours, dominates the motorcycle’s bodywork, while bold black stripes run across both sides of the machine.

The contrasting colour scheme continues through the motorcycle’s detailing, with predominantly black wheels featuring Tiger Yellow accents alongside the logos of both Honda and Onitsuka Tiger. From the bodywork and graphics to the smaller finishing touches, the concept has been designed to create a strong visual connection between motorcycle and fashion.

The motorcycle was unveiled alongside a special Onitsuka Tiger collection created as part of the collaboration. The fashion brand presented footwear and apparel featuring Honda’s iconic Wing Mark, with the collection drawing inspiration from motorcycle culture and incorporating elements intended to reflect the spirit of two-wheeled mobility.

While Honda has officially described the motorcycle simply as a mid-displacement sports concept, its design has naturally prompted speculation about what could potentially sit beneath the striking bodywork.

The concept features an aggressive full-fairing design, low-mounted clip-on handlebars and sport-focused ergonomics, giving it a considerably more committed stance than Honda’s current naked and adventure models using its 750cc platform. The styling also incorporates aerodynamic elements around the front fairing and a sharp headlight design that carries visual cues from Honda’s existing motorcycle range.

However, Honda has not confirmed production plans or identified the concept as a future CBR model. For now, it remains a design study created specifically to showcase the collaboration between the two Japanese brands.

The Milan debut also highlights the broader ambition behind the partnership. Rather than simply applying fashion branding to a motorcycle, Honda and Onitsuka Tiger are using the project to explore the similarities between motorcycle and fashion culture, particularly the importance of individuality, craftsmanship, performance and personal expression.

For Onitsuka Tiger, the collaboration extends its design language into the world of motorcycles, while Honda gains an opportunity to present its motorcycle culture to a new audience through the global fashion platform.

The Onitsuka Tiger Honda Mid Sports Concept therefore represents more than a single motorcycle. It is the first expression of a collaboration that aims to blur the traditional boundaries between mobility and fashion, bringing together two distinctly Japanese approaches to design and manufacturing.

From Japan to the world, Honda and Onitsuka Tiger are now taking their shared passion for innovation, craftsmanship and distinctive design into a new arena.
