Haiden Deegan Re-Signs with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, Set to Join 450 Team in 2026

Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing has confirmed a multi-year contract extension with rising star Haiden Deegan, ensuring the young talent remains within their championship-winning program well into the future. After a dominant run aboard the YZ250F, the Californian will step up to the YZ450F for his rookie season in 2026.
Deegan’s journey with Yamaha Star Racing began in late 2021, when he joined the team’s amateur program. Since then, he has rapidly established himself as a championship contender, collecting a string of national titles and accolades – including Rookie of the Year honors in both Supercross and Motocross – and back-to-back 250SMX titles in 2023 and 2024.
In 2024, Deegan captured the Pro Motocross 250MX Championship and continued that momentum into 2025 by clinching the 250SX West Championship with a round to spare. Heading into the final stretch of the 2025 outdoor season, he’s in prime form once again – with five overall victories and 10 moto wins to his name so far. He holds a commanding 45-point lead in the 250MX standings and a 103-point lead in the combined 250SMX points.
Looking ahead, Deegan will finish the 2025 season in the 250 class before officially stepping into the 450 ranks in 2026. He’s slated to race the 250 in Supercross under the 450 tent, before making his full-time premier class debut in the Pro Motocross Championship and the SMX World Championship Finals.

Jim Roach, Yamaha Racing Department Manager for YMUS, expressed the team’s excitement:
“Yamaha Racing is excited to announce that Haiden Deegan has signed a multi-year contract to continue with the Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing team. Since joining the team, Haiden has earned significant achievements, and we look forward to continuing that success as he graduates to the 450 team.”
Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing 450 Team Manager Rich Simmons added:
“We’re looking forward to having Haiden on the 450 next summer and continuing the success he’s had in the 250 class.”
Deegan himself is eager for the next step:
“I am pumped to re-sign with Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing. The plan is to race the 250 in Supercross, and then make the move to the 450 class for Motocross and SMX. I’m grateful for the opportunity and more fired up than ever. Let’s keep grinding.”

With just a few rounds remaining in the season, all eyes will be on Deegan as he aims to add more silverware to an already impressive résumé before making the big leap to the premier class.
