Fantic Stealth 500: Italian Style with Serious Streetfighter Attitude

The Fantic Stealth 500 certainly knows how to make an entrance. Finished in striking Acid Green, this Italian-built naked bike combines aggressive styling with lightweight engineering and a surprising amount of technology.

The Stealth 500 is the flagship of Fantic’s Stealth family and has been designed around one simple philosophy: “DARE TO PLAY?” It’s a motorcycle aimed at riders looking for an engaging, sporty machine that can deliver plenty of excitement without sacrificing everyday usability.

At the heart of the Stealth 500 is Fantic’s 463cc MM460 liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, producing around 40–45 hp. The Euro 5+ powerplant is paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch, while four riding modes — Street, Rain, Track and Custom — allow riders to tailor the motorcycle’s character to suit the conditions.

What really sets the Stealth apart, however, is its focus on lightweight performance. With a claimed dry weight of just 147 kg, Fantic describes it as the lightest 500-class naked bike. The chassis combines a steel trellis structure with a forged aluminium plate, while an aluminium swingarm further contributes to the motorcycle’s low weight and sharp handling.

Suspension comes in the form of a 41mm USD front fork and preload-adjustable rear monoshock, while braking is handled by a 320mm front disc with a radial-mounted ByBre caliper and a 230mm rear disc. Cornering ABS and traction control are also standard.

The Stealth 500 rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, with a 110-section front and 150-section rear, giving the lightweight naked bike the sporting grip to match its aggressive appearance.

Technology hasn’t been overlooked either. A five-inch TFT display provides the rider with the essential information, while a USB-C charging port adds a useful touch for everyday riding.

And then there’s the styling.

The sharp fuel tank, compact proportions, single-seat configuration, exposed frame and distinctive dual-lens LED headlight give the Stealth 500 a seriously purposeful stance. The Acid Green colour option takes things even further, giving the bike a bold streetfighter personality that is difficult to ignore.

Fantic’s involvement in motorcycle racing also adds another interesting layer to the brand. The company is involved with the Fantic Racing Moto2 project, bringing its racing presence to one of the most competitive championships in motorcycle racing.

It’s a brand we’d certainly like to see make a bigger impact in South Africa.

Fantic has an increasingly interesting range of motorcycles, and the Stealth 500 is a perfect example of what makes the Italian manufacturer worth keeping an eye on. Lightweight, distinctive and packed with character, it could be a very interesting addition to the South African middleweight motorcycle market.
