Enea Bastianini Joins Trackhouse MotoGP Team for 2027

The SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team has confirmed that Enea Bastianini will join the American squad for the start of the 2027 MotoGP World Championship, with the Italian signing an initial two-year deal that will see him partner Raul Fernandez through the 2028 season.

Fernandez recently renewed his contract with Trackhouse, and the team will now head into MotoGP’s new technical era with a pairing that combines youth, speed and considerable premier-class experience.

Bastianini, 28, hails from Rimini, Italy, and will carry his familiar #23 when he makes the switch to Trackhouse. He brings a proven race-winning pedigree to a team that has emerged as one of the front-runners in the 2026 MotoGP World Championship.

His racing career began at a young age in Italian mini-bike racing and junior championships before he joined the Red Bull Rookies Cup in 2013. Bastianini immediately demonstrated his potential, claiming two victories on his way to fourth in the championship.

That performance earned him a move into the Moto3 World Championship for 2014. Three podium finishes and a consistent run of top-10 results saw him end his rookie campaign ninth in the standings, before he stepped up his performances considerably in 2015 to finish third in the championship.

Bastianini went even closer to the Moto3 title in 2016, finishing second overall, before making the move to Moto2 in 2019. It did not take long for him to establish himself in the intermediate class, and in 2020 he secured the Moto2 World Championship.

That title placed Bastianini firmly on the radar of MotoGP teams, and he made his premier-class debut in 2021. He secured his first MotoGP podium with a third-place finish at the San Marino Grand Prix before repeating the achievement at the Grand Prix of Emilia-Romagna at Misano.

The 2022 season marked Bastianini’s breakthrough at the highest level. He opened the campaign with victory in Qatar before adding further wins in the United States, France and Aragon. His impressive season earned him third place in the final MotoGP World Championship standings.

An early-season injury disrupted his 2023 campaign, but Bastianini responded strongly in 2024. He remained in title contention for much of the season, recording nine Grand Prix podiums, including two victories, while also claiming a Sprint win. He ultimately finished fourth in the championship.

Known throughout the paddock as ‘Bestia’, meaning ‘The Beast’, Bastianini will now bring his experience and race-winning ability to Trackhouse as the team continues its partnership with Aprilia and its RS-GP prototypes.

The Italian will get his first opportunity to work with the team during pre-season testing at Valencia following the conclusion of the 2026 World Championship. The test will also mark the beginning of preparations for a significant new era in MotoGP, with new motorcycles, tyres and regulations coming into effect for 2027.
