Ducati Unveils the Desmo450 SM Supermoto Race Bike at World Ducati Week 2026

By MRWadmin

Ducati has officially revealed its first-ever purpose-built Supermoto race motorcycle, the Desmo450 SM, during World Ducati Week 2026, marking another significant step in the Italian manufacturer’s expansion into new areas of motorcycle competition.

Designed exclusively for Supermoto racing, the Desmo450 SM has already demonstrated impressive performance before its official launch. Developed as a dedicated competition machine, it has been campaigned by four-time Supermoto World Champion Marc Reiner Schmidt, who guided the motorcycle to victories in its very first competitive appearances, providing an early indication of its race-winning potential.

Rather than adapting an existing motocross or enduro platform, Ducati has engineered the Desmo450 SM specifically for the unique demands of Supermoto competition. The machine features dedicated braking components, race-developed suspension, specialised engine internals and bespoke bodywork, all designed to deliver maximum performance on circuits that combine asphalt and dirt sections.

While Ducati has yet to release the complete technical specifications, the manufacturer confirmed that the Desmo450 SM will make its official debut in September 2026, when full details of the motorcycle will be unveiled.

With a proven champion already winning aboard the new machine and Ducati continuing to expand its presence across multiple racing disciplines, the Desmo450 SM is shaping up to be an exciting new contender in the world of Supermoto competition.
