Ducati Centenary Honoured with Official Italian Commemorative Stamp

Ducati’s remarkable 100-year journey has been officially recognised by the Italian State with the release of a special commemorative stamp, issued by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy as part of the “Excellence of the Italian Productive and Economic System” series.

Unveiled on 9 April 2026 at the prestigious Sala degli Arazzi in Palazzo Piacentini, the initiative celebrates Ducati’s enduring contribution to Italian industry, innovation, and global influence. The ceremony was attended by key institutional figures, including Undersecretary of State for Philately Fausta Bergamotto, marking a significant moment in the brand’s centenary year.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, described 2026 as an extraordinary milestone, representing a century of passion, engineering excellence, and unmistakable identity. He подчеркed that “Made in Italy” is deeply embedded in Ducati’s DNA, reflecting a philosophy that seamlessly blends tradition with cutting-edge innovation—an approach that has positioned the brand as a global benchmark in technology, design, and performance.

Founded in 1926 in Borgo Panigale, Bologna, Ducati has evolved from its origins in radio technology into one of the most iconic names in motorcycling and motorsport. Throughout its history, the company has remained guided by its core values of style, sophistication, and performance, consistently producing machines that embody Italian craftsmanship and sporting spirit.

These defining elements are captured in the design of the centenary stamp, which features an iconic Ducati motorcycle adorned with the colours of the Italian flag. The imagery symbolises not only the brand’s heritage but also its deep-rooted connection to Italy’s creativity, engineering prowess, and cultural identity.

This is not the first time Ducati has been honoured through philately. In 2022, a stamp celebrating the brand’s MotoGP World Championship success featured the Desmosedici GP22 of Francesco Bagnaia, again incorporating the Italian tricolour in its design.
The newly issued centenary stamp is released at the B rate and is accompanied by a special collector’s philatelic folder. This limited-edition set includes a block of four stamps, a single stamp, a stamped and postmarked postcard, a philatelic card, a first-day cover, and an illustrated bulletin. It is available through select post offices, dedicated philately spaces, and official online platforms.

Further cementing its place in Italy’s historical and cultural narrative, the Ducati Centenary stamp will also be included in the “Book of Stamps 2026,” the annual publication that documents the year’s official releases—blending collectability with a broader story of national achievement and identity.
