DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR JAMIE WILLIAMS AS CAOMHAN CANNY SEALS SENIOR MANX GRAND PRIX GLORY

By MRWadmin

The 2025 Manx Grand Prix reached new heights of drama and emotion as Jamie Williams added another victory to his growing legacy, while Ireland’s Caomhan Canny produced a stunning late charge to be crowned Senior MGP Champion.

For Williams, the week has been nothing short of remarkable. After his breakthrough Supersport win on Saturday and a podium in the Twins class, the Douglas rider doubled up by claiming the Junior Manx Grand Prix. The three-lap race around the 37.7-mile Mountain Course was packed with intensity, as Williams fought an early battle with Lewis Arrowsmith before fending off a determined late push from Toby Shann. Williams crossed the line three seconds clear, with Michael Gahan securing the final podium place.

If Williams was the star of the Junior, then the Senior Manx Grand Prix belonged to Caomhan Canny. In one of the closest and most dramatic finishes in recent memory, the Irishman produced a last-gasp effort to snatch victory by just half a second.

For most of the race, it looked destined to be Chris Cook’s day. The Hawick rider had delivered a commanding performance at the front, only for Canny to dig deep in the final stages, launching a sensational charge to deny him glory.

Williams was again in the mix, showcasing his consistency with yet another podium – his fourth of the 2025 Manx Grand Prix. But his third place came under fierce pressure, as Ryan Whitehall missed out by a scarcely believable 0.007 seconds at the chequered flag. Despite the heartbreak, Whitehall remained upbeat, praising the competition and taking pride in his effort.

The Senior brought the curtain down on an unforgettable week on the Island – one filled with breakthrough wins, nail-biting finishes, and new heroes etched into Manx Grand Prix history.
