Classic TT Glory for Michael Dunlop – and the First-Ever Brian Reid Trophy

By MRWadmin

The Isle of Man once again became the stage for history as Michael Dunlop (MD Racing) stormed to his maiden Classic TT Lightweight victory aboard the 250cc Honda – while also becoming the very first recipient of the Brian Reid Trophy.

The new award, presented by TT legend Brian Reid himself, celebrates the highest-placed rider on a 250cc GP machine in the Lightweight Classic TT. In a fitting debut, Dunlop not only claimed victory but did so in dominant style, setting the fastest lap at an incredible 115.285mph average and finishing with a commanding 47-second margin over seasoned rival Ian Lougher.

This triumph adds yet another chapter to Dunlop’s TT legacy, with the Brian Reid Trophy standing as a significant accolade to mark his Lightweight success.

But the story doesn’t end here – all eyes now turn to tomorrow’s Formula One Classic TT, where Dunlop will climb aboard the iconic Norton as he looks to continue his charge and add even more silverware to his glittering Isle of Man career.
