Brad Binder visits Kyalami for “SuperLap” attempt
Yes, it’s true. You’ve seen some videos and heard all about it on Facebook over the past 24 hours. Brad Binder was indeed at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit yesterday riding around on an older spec (2019 or so we think) KTM MotoGP bike.

It was an official day shooting for RedBull and the aim was to complete a “Super Lap”, setting the fastest ever recorded lap by a motorcycle around the track. This was the first time a modern-day MotoGP bike had done a lap around the Kyalami circuit and who better to do it than our very own hero – Brad Binder.
The bike was flown out along with some of Brad’s MotoGP crew members for this special occasion.

The current fastest official time for a motorcycle around Kyalami is a 1,45,2, set a few years back in our National championship race by Clint Seller. No official word on what times Brad was able to achieve yesterday in the 20 laps or so he managed but rumors are it was a 1,42.1. No MotoGP spec Michelin tyres were used, but rather World Endurance spec Michelin slicks, and as for the bike it’s an official spec KTM MotoGP racer from a few years back. Not official either, but a top speed of 320.9kph was mentioned down the long Kyalami main straight away.
Brad said after the day it was great to be home and it’s always been a childhood dream to ride a MotoGP bike in SA and that the experience was very special.

Keep a look out for the full video release of this special occasion being launched on the 18th of August. As always we will keep you in the loop!!!
Don’t miss out on the Official Binder Brother Meet & Greet Street Festival happening this Saturday the 16th of July at Lock, Stock & Beer for your chance to chat with Brad and Darryn Binder and see Brad’s KTM weapon in the flesh.
