2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica

Dakar Rally success is no longer reserved for factory riders alone. With the arrival of the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica, the Austrian manufacturer once again brings its race-winning pedigree into the hands of privateers and serious off-road enthusiasts. Available in strictly limited numbers from July 2026, this latest iteration continues a legacy that has defined rally raid performance for more than a decade.

For the past five years, the KTM 450 Rally Replica has stood as the brand’s purest expression of rally engineering. Developed directly from competition, its DNA is inseparable from the world’s toughest race. Since 2020, the machine has carried four different riders to Dakar victory and consistently featured at the sharp end of RallyGP competition. It is, quite simply, as close as most riders will ever get to owning a full factory race bike—true to its “Replica” name in every sense.

That reputation was further cemented in 2026 when Argentine rider Luciano Benavides delivered another Dakar triumph for KTM. To celebrate the achievement, KTM will release an ultra-exclusive run of just eight Luciano Benavides Factory Edition models. These machines go beyond the already impressive base package, combining distinctive Red Bull KTM factory livery with premium upgrades and a unique ownership experience that includes VIP access to the sold-out 2026 KTM Adventure Rally in Italy.

Production of the standard 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica will exceed just 100 units globally, ensuring its rarity. At its core lies a proven 449.3cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected SOHC engine paired with a six-speed gearbox and a premium Brembo hydraulic clutch. Tuned specifically for rally conditions, the power delivery is both relentless and manageable, while a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system reduces weight and enhances performance.

The chassis reflects KTM’s obsessive focus on balance and rider feedback. Its hydro-formed, laser-cut, and hand-welded frame delivers a carefully engineered blend of longitudinal and torsional flex, resulting in both stability at speed and precise handling across unpredictable terrain. Fully adjustable WP Pro suspension further elevates the package, allowing riders to fine-tune the bike for everything from high-speed desert stages to technical off-road sections.

Every element of the Rally Replica is designed with endurance and functionality in mind. Dual radiators improve cooling efficiency and provide redundancy in case of damage, while CNC-machined triple clamps offer increased stiffness without adding unnecessary weight. Rally-tested ergonomics include a tapered aluminium handlebar, foam grips, and wide footpegs that maximise control whether seated or standing for extended periods.

Long-distance capability remains one of the bike’s defining features. A three-tank fuel system increases total capacity to approximately 34.5 litres, enabling serious range between refuelling points. Up front, a carbon-fibre navigation tower forms the centrepiece of the cockpit, ready to accommodate a digital roadbook system, complete with intuitive controls and powerful LED lighting. The surrounding bodywork has been carefully shaped to balance aerodynamic protection with rider mobility, ensuring comfort and control over marathon stages.

For 2027, KTM returns the Rally Replica to its traditional orange colour scheme, reinforcing its connection to the brand’s heritage. Meanwhile, the Luciano Benavides Factory Edition elevates exclusivity with full Red Bull KTM graphics, factory carbon components, a numbered limited-edition badge, and a premium Selle Dalla Valle seat. It also rolls out equipped with Michelin Rally tyres fitted with mousse inserts, further enhancing its race-ready credentials.

Ownership of the Factory Edition extends beyond the bike itself. Buyers will receive a VIP experience at the 2026 KTM Adventure Rally in Italy, where they will meet the Red Bull KTM Rally Factory Team, take delivery of their machines from the Dakar champion, and benefit from on-site support throughout the event—an experience that brings them closer than ever to the world of professional rally racing.

Despite minimal changes to the core platform, the 2027 model’s credentials remain unquestionable. With 12 Dakar victories from the last 21 editions and an extraordinary 250 stage wins, the KTM 450 Rally platform continues to set the benchmark. This latest version, priced from just over £33,000 for the standard model and exceeding £42,000 for the Factory Edition, is not just a motorcycle—it is a direct link to Dakar history.

In a world where performance motorcycles often blur the line between road and track, the KTM 450 Rally Replica stands apart. It is unapologetically focused, purpose-built, and proven at the highest level of competition. For those fortunate enough to secure one of the limited units, it offers something truly special: the chance to experience Dakar-level engineering, straight from the showroom floor.
